The World’s Largest Truckstop

We were looking for a rest area west of Davenport when we happened upon The World’s Largest Truckstop. It did live up to its name. There was parking for 800 semis, cars and RV’s as well. What we didn’t realize when we chose to stop there was the decibel level. It was just a roar of diesel engines plus sundry other equipment necessary to operate a facility of that size.

Of course the boys needed a potty break. With them you have both ends of the spectrum—Quark dutifully marches on to do his duty and Harley is terrified of every door slam, engine rev and any other sounds that are unknown to him. He zigs, he zags, he attempts to head toward the RV and safety. Quark did his thing no fuss, Harley not.

I must admit The World’s Largest Truckstop could easily have been called The Workd’s Loudest Truckstop.
