It had been raining steadily all night the ground was saturated. We got pretty wet getting the truck hooked up. We left Goodlettsville at 8 a.m.
Rain was the order of the day but it got worse as we got near Birmingham, AL. We saw 2 run-offs, a fender-bender and a rollover. I’m sure speed contributed to the accidents but the rain the major cause. There was water in puddles on the roadway and that could cause hydroplaning.
We were on pins and needles the whole way but finally got set up by 2:30 p.m. Tom did most of the work as he had a rain coat. I forgot mine and I was soaked by the time I got our stuff out of the truck and into the trailer and tried to get the boys to go potty. No luck there. It stopped raining about 3: 40 then I finally got the boys to do their business.
We had egg salad for early supper and made a pot of coffee to warm up.
We are spending the night at The Woods RV park & Campground in Montgomery. It is a really nice park. All sites have water, electric, sewer and cable. We also have Wi-Fi.
