Niece, Christy, was due to have her baby in a few weeks but on Tuesday here blood pressure went up and she went to the hospital. They decided to induce labor after they stabilized her BP. So Wednesday they did that, but as the baby was early he was not in the proper position for delivery. He did turn some so they continued with a normal delivery until his heart rate dropped and they took him by C-section.
Christy is fine but little Clay had a rough beginning as he was not breathing at the start. They helped him breath then he was moved from delivery to NICU where they placed him in an incubator and monitored his vitals. He had arrhythmia and was very tired from his ordeal.
Great nephew, Clay 5 lbs, 10 oz. about 18”
As of yesterday, Clay is breathing on his own and has had two 10 gram bottles of milk. He is still too weak to nurse. They think he will be able to go home Sunday if he can down more milk at a sitting.
The happy parents, Christy and Ryan with Clay Anthony.
It was hard for me to be so far away while all this was going on.
